‘The Pirates’ Prisoner’ retells an early event from the life of the boy who went on to destroy the Roman Republic and become its Dictator. Gaius Julius Caesar is just a young student on a sea crossing when he falls into the hands of a band of pirate slavers out for all they can get. To them, Gaius’s situation seems hopeless and the outcome certain. His captors don’t know who they are dealing with, however…
